The CDC has become a punchline

In this episode, I discuss just how poor the CDC messaging continues to be. And it’s not just me. CNN’s own Brian Stelter literally said, “The CDC has become a punchline.” He isn’t wrong. He interviewed a guest on his show just two days ago, Dr. Lucy McBride, who said fear and the stoking of fear is wrong and hurts patients. She was very much against the constant anxiety being pushed by doctors who seem intent on panic porn.

As an illustration, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, Director of the CDC, went on Good Morning America Monday to reveal 75% of all Covid-related deaths have had at least four comorbidities. Where was this information 18 months ago? I knew about it. Others in the new media were aware. What is suddenly happening to make the CDC DIrector finally admit over 75% of deaths were people with serious health issues? How many people would have not given into fear had this been made mainstream? Why would we need to mandate vaccines for people who are healthy and well?

A piece in the Wall Street Journal begs this very question. “It would be irrational, legally indefensible and contrary to the public interest for government to mandate vaccines absent any evidence that the vaccines are effective in stopping the spread of the pathogen they target.” Then I jump to an interview given Monday by Albert Bourla, the chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pfizer. His interview with CNBC revealed some interesting facts. The Pfizer CEO said they are planning a new vaccine specifically for Omicron. Apparently, even though Dr. Fauci, Dr. Walensky and President Biden have been telling the public the existing vaccines and boosters will protect against Omicron, Pfizer says it won’t.

Albert Bourla then said, “Two doses of the vaccine offers very limited protection, if any. Three doses with a booster offer reasonable protection against hospitalization and deaths. Less protection against infection.”

What?? The original doses provide, “limited protection, if any?!” And if you take three doses or more you may lessen risk of death or hospitalization, but will not prevent infection? It’s almost as if those who have been vaccinated would have likely had a positive outcome just by letting their own immune system do it’s job. In fact, in light of the CDC’s admission of the 4+ comorbidities in 75% of deaths, why would we continue to push the vaccine as the sole solution for everyone?

Finally, I wonder why so many in the media are just now deciding to report the information we have been talking about for 12-18 months? Why do they take so long to finally report on the information that was readily available? Journalists should be asking questions and sharing differing views, rather than simply regurgitating talking-points sent from on-high.
